The Authentic Making Process

Our bladesmiths follow a strict crafting process to guarantee maximum strength and superb balance.

• Precision Forging: First, artisans heat raw D2 steel billets in the forge and hand-hammer them into an aggressive leaf shape. As a result, the blade concentrates mass near the tip for maximum chopping power.

• Dual-Stage Heat Treatment: Next, the smith quenches the hot steel in oil and tempers it to achieve a 58–60 HRC hardness level. Consequently, the blade holds a razor edge while maintaining enough flex to prevent snapping.

• Full-Tang Handle Shaping: After heat treating, craftsmen shape the core steel handle scale directly from the tang. Therefore, the steel forms one solid, unbreakable piece from the pommel to the tip.

• Custom Black Leather Wrapping: Additionally, skilled leathercrafters hand-wrap the steel grip in tight, top-grain black leather. This provides strong moisture resistance and ensures a firm, non-slip grip during use.

• Final Grinding & Polishing: Finally, the smith hand-grinds the edges to a razor finish, creating a clean satin sheen that highlights classic Greek combat style.
